Have you tried connecting a computer directly to the modem via cat5 cable. What is the make and model of modem (and any other network devices)?
If you still have the same problem when connected directly, you will likely need to keep on with TalkTalk to pay a visit and run diagnostics on your signal and modem.
Okay so I need this sorting once and for all. My household recently made an internet switch over to TalkTalk, and all we have ever had is issues with our connection!
It started 2 weeks ago. The internet is permanently connected, but every 5-10 mins or so, it will do the whole "No internet access" thing with the exclamation point over the wireless icon in the bottom right hand corner. It will only stay off for 2 mins or so, but its persistently doing it!
I contacted TalkTalk around 7 days ago and they claimed to be having issues as a result of the weather, so at the time I put our issue down to that. However, TalkTalk have since claimed that their issues are over and that everything should be back up now.
I rang the automated service and got them to run connection/diagnostic tests and the result came back that everything is fine.... But is is obvious something is going wrong somewhere.
I'm not a professional with these kinds of things, but I do know a thing or two... and I must say I'm at a loss. The only thing I can think of is that it may be something physical... maybe a wire somewhere is dodgy, but they are all brand new.
One thing I have noticed is that it seems to be worse when the weather is bad. For example, it was really windy the other day and the "No internet access" sign barely went away.
I would really appreciate answers soon, as I am a uni student and I have deadlines to meet, the internet is VERY important for me to be able to pass my assignments!
