No frills 15.6" laptop

by karenfromcanton / March 23, 2013 9:45 PM PDT

Looking to buy a budget laptop not to be used for gaming or watching movies, mostly web surfing. Told by a retailer that AMDs tend to heat up-is this true? Looking at a Dell Inspiron on sale at Best Buy-115-1366BK. Do all manufacturers have negative reviews regarding customer service? Your suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

Last question-thoughts on purchasing a laptop from E-Bay-never bought anything from this site, but was told if I bought something new from someone with excellent consumer ratings, good idea.

Personally, I would never buy a new laptop from a 'somebody', only from a reputable company. But that's up to you.

Dell offers next business day on site (that is: with you, at home) hardware support/repair, if you pay for that. Software support is better done yourself anyway.
