Newbie Needs Help Setting Up Wireless to Stream to LN52A750

by julian1705 / May 10, 2009 8:22 AM PDT

I hope that someone will have pity on me and help me with my wireless connectivity project. I have a Samsung LN52A750. I want to be able to stream video from my PC to my LN52A750 located in my living room. The distance between the PC and TV is 35 feet. There are two walls in between the PC and TV. I do not want to run a wire, so I would like to do a wireless set-up. I have done some research on this and the threads are frightening and make it all sound complicated. I do not have any of the hardware that is required to make this wireless connection.

Please, someone tell me exactly what to buy for both ends in order to get my PC connected to my TV so I can stream video in there. Spell it out like I am a 3rd grader. I've read about wireless game adapters, USB Wi-Fi Adapters, routers used a bridges--its got me all confused. I know there are some network experts that can break it down for me.

If it matters, I am running Windows XP, SP3, fully patched. My Internet source is Verizon DSL.

My thanks in advance to anyone that responds.

LN52A750 Wireless Setup w/ Apple
by aztimer2 / May 13, 2009 3:27 PM PDT

I am having a problem understanding this wireless network. I have an Apple extreme iMac, and now the LN52A750 Samsung LCD tv. I would like to be able to set it up using the WIS09ABGN wireless device. I was told by the saleman at Frys that all I had to do was plug the device into the usb port and the tv would lead me through the rest. I also was told to put the MAC address into the airport utility. So now I have the stick in the usb slot for the tv and the airport software set up. It does not connect. I also noticed that the stick does not show up on the tv menu, nor does the wireless network link on the tv menu lite up. Where have i gone wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to trick the TV
by julian1705 / May 14, 2009 7:46 AM PDT

My understanding from other posts in this forum is that the DNLA will not work with the USB port. You have to trick the TV by plugging your wireless receiver (device) into the ethernet port. The TV thinks that it is hard wired. Check out this posting:
