That is, if your old laptop is some Core2Duo with 2GB ram then you extrapolate what the delay will be on a newer PC with more RAM and faster CPU. But at no time will it be near zero in time. Without knowing what you have, it's not a good idea to supply you any idea except maybe a top of the line Apple.
I have a Nikon D800, use an SD XC Extreme 64Gb card. tif files can be 103MB (neff/raw 47 - 49 MB) I want to be able to manipulate my files in Photoshop Elements without my laptop taking ages to load a file. I would also want to open more than one file at a time and go between the two. I have a couple of remote drives for extra storage but I want to buy a new laptop which can handle my large files when I am away from home. Any advice appreciated.
