New laptop for school

by BenCyber / July 8, 2013 2:14 AM PDT

Hi everyone, i'm searching for a new laptop for school.

This is what i need:

an i5 CPU (i Would prefer i7)
4 gb ram (i would prefer 8 gb)
an ethernet port
A 14"-15" display with at least 1600x900 resolution
Not too heavy, good battery, backlit keyboard and if possible an optical drive.

I tought that the lenovo thinkpad t430s or the thinkpad x1 where a good choice, but then I read a couple of reviews and it seems that they have really bad displays, is it true?
And if so is there a better choice?
Any help is appreciated

Those and keyboards are items you inspect first hand. Those that don't inspect such may be upset.

Your spec of the pixel count tells me you won't find too many models so what you found is going to be all today. However, take a look at the Asus k55a with the i5. The 2 year warranty and build is good for the buck.

Always try the laptop chooser at the top of this forum. Forgot to mention that in my reply.

Actually such laptops are used for working executives. So such laptops have a good battery power but the display is not that good.
