Question

Network locked by administrator UNLOCKS ITSELF in OSX

by bionicjules / December 14, 2012 8:28 PM PST

My iMac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) is turned off overnight. When rebooted in the morning, the lock on the my (administrator's) Network appears UNLOCKED. How is this happening?
Previously, I was advised to go the Advanced and remove from the list all networks, other than MINE and the Airport Express through which it's connected. But to no avail. As a result, even though the Airport Express's green light is ON, the network symbol usually appears greyed out UNTIL the administrator's network is manually selected from the list, which includes 3 or 4 internet provider's options.
All suggestions appreciated.
