Prepaid seems an option.

You largest question is who has good coverage where you are going. Mostly the answer is verizon but they do not offer good plans.

CLEARWIRE if you are in their coverage area is the best bet. They offer month to month plans with no commitment. At the moment this is the fastest wireless service available since it is a 4G system. You may also look at plans from sprint. This is a joint network owned by both companies sprint offers plans that do not have caps on them... as long as you do not roam to their 3G net.
