Need help finding virtual equipment board

by Quark_Chicago / April 14, 2013 11:07 AM PDT

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me, I searched the internet up and down, and can't find what I'm looking for. I'm looking for basically a virtual equipment board for a construction company. So something that I can make tags for employees, trucks, trailers, equipment etc... I would like the employees to be able to visit it from there smart phones and edit the board as needed, so all employees can see who has what and where there located. If anyone has any ideas I could use the help.

Thanks

Sounds like an old question I've heard before.

Equipment tracking is an old issue. You either use a ready to use package or write one to your spec. I continue to encounter folk that think that every app has been written or is free but this is an old area. Research "equipment tracking."

Can you tell me why the word virtual is in this request?

Virtual

well, let me put it this way, I'm not trying to track equipment by gps, basically what we have now is a magnetic board, it has boxes on the board, with foremans name on top, then all employees working for that foreman there names are in that box, with each truck/trailer/equip that there hauling next to there name. Its all magnetic and you just move the magnets around as needed. I'm looking for a program thats basically like that, you can drag around names, trucks, equip. And all this can be done from either a computer or even an iphone app would be great. Something everyone can say log into and edit by moving around the tiles or whatever this way all foreman can see who has what.

Still sounds like the old equipment tracking app.

Drop the word virtual and your search will be more successful. Again, not all apps are written or free. Sometimes you get to make your own.
