I see so few Windows laptops with GPS that it appears that those with GPS should be such a short list that you would have little choice in the selection.
Do you know which model I should get? Here are my needs:
Laptop/tablet hybrid, 10 to 14 inches
Good sized, comfortable keyboard for a lot of typing
Tablet has stylus option, can handwrite and transforms to typed text (from written notes to Word file)
Ereader function as tablet
Can watch movies and listen to music with tablet
Tablet is touch screen
Windows 7 or 8 for maximum software flexibility
Captures audio and video of excellent quality -- two cameras (one facing in, better one facing out), ability to plug in higher end microphones, speakers, etc.
Dockable to get two monitors, external keyboard, mouse, printer/scanner, external hard drive and ideally more of a brain for higher end use at home (video editing). Preferably through a docking station, so I can take it in/out without unplugging too much or having too many wireless devices
Can speak to a Mac, in case I get one later, as well as other devices (but I'm not looking for a Mac with this device as Apple doesn't make a good hybrid)
Compatible with voice software (dragon speaking), mind mapping software, GPS, and other organizational/productivity tools
Can run Word 2007 or better, full version. Same with Excel and ideally Database software too. Also powerpoint, maybe publisher, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and other work tools.
Full internet access, it would be bonus to have ethernet, at least in a docking station
USB ports, ideally SD reader, HDMI so I can plug it into a TV
Very long battery life (ideally over 12-16 hours), ok with multiple interchangeable batteries so that I can carry extra power on a long day, but I don't have to plug in, in case I'm in the field
Lightweight and portable enough to have on me all the time
Will last me at least 3 to 5 years, so cutting edge is better in terms of processor speed, RAM, and other specs. I'd prefer a computer that converts to a tablet, rather than a tablet that converts to a computer, for this reason (more power).
This is a long list of needs and I can't find enough information in the reviews to be able to tell which hybrid will meet all these needs.
Budget -- less important, especially if the device will meet all of these needs. If I had to get each of these needs met in a different device, I could spend 3 to 5 G. So if I can get all this for under $2000, I will be very happy.
Right now, all my computers are old/dead, so I'm starting from scratch and I want something awesome that will help me fly.
Thanks very much!
