Question

Need help choosing between 2 cameras

by tercac / March 7, 2012 11:07 AM PST

Hello guys, I am upgrading from a flip camera into a cam-corder and need some help deciding which camera to buy. My budget is 550 dollars tops, and I have come down to two cameras. The first one is the Sony Handycam HDR-CX260V, and the second one is the Sony Handycam HDR-PJ10. I have no idea which one to buy, the cx260v has better specs than the pj10 but the pj10 has better software based features such as cinematic 24p mode (slowing the video down to 24p in video editing software isn't the same is it?). So yeah I have no idea which one to get, please tell me which would be a better option. Thanks.

Note: I don't care for the projector at all.

What to consider

In terms of their camcorder Interpolated Photo Resolution, HDR-CX260V/B has 8.9 megapixels whereas HDRPJ10 has just 3.3 megapixels. Therefore I think you should consider the option with the highest pixels.

What is Interpolated Photo Resolution? What does it really do?
