Question

Need a way to find MS Office key

by Disneyfan / May 14, 2013 7:11 AM PDT

My son and I bought my wife and I a new MacBook Air for Mother's Day. We used Migration Assistant to port all her files and app over to the new system. The first time that she went to use MS Office it said it needed to be activated and wants us to enter the license key. Unfortunately, it's been quite a while since it was installed and we now cannot locate the packaging or the key.

On the Windows environment I know there are several utilities to help dig out the key including Belarc Advisor and KeyFinder. Is there any way to dig out that info on a Mac?

Call Microsoft and they will give you a number,

if you explain the situation.

There should have been an 800 number to call instead of activating on line.

If you registered your Office this will not be too costly. For now, try LibreOffice as you ponder what you want to do.
