I know a lot of folk that don't want to hear the drive gets old and fails. Good to read you tested the media but did you try some USB DVDRW? Those are cheap and can be used with your next PC or laptop.
I have a ASUS x51r and this is the problem:
My original windows.xp.sp2 that came with my laptop broke
so i downloaded a windows copy from a torrent burned it on a cd ( not bootable) used my key it worked.
Now after 1 year or so i decided to reinstall my windows but it shows that disk as a blank, it does read simple data cd, but not setup cd cause i made another one and it didn't work . On my roommate's laptop the cd shows as a windows cd like it should, why is this hapening ?
