My cable internet says connected but it wont load pages

by kairainme / February 1, 2006 2:08 PM PST

My cable internet gives me the connected display and says connected when i go to my network, but wont recieve any data whatsoever. If i try to open IE i get a fast blinking cursor, and nothing loads. If I use firefox i get a screen saying couldnt load. It says cant connect if i try to use a p2p, aim or yahoo messenger as well. I tried a system restore but the last possible restore date it gives me is Dec 18. I have had the comp about 3 years now, so that shouldnt be the last restore date. Regardless restoring to that point doesnt help anything anyways. Help please before I go nuts?!?!? Thank you!

LSP Fix and also another program called WinXp Fix serve the same purpose. The windows host file gets corrupted by
rogue adware or spyware. If you have problems with "page cannot be displayed" type messages, then power everything off. This means the router, modem, and all computers. Then turn them all back on in this order, modem(wait one minute), Router(wait one minute), and then all the computers. If this still does not fix it, call the cable company and ask them if they can tell you if your modem is in fact online. If it is then try the reboot process I described.
