Multiple Desktop Icons

by wahb64 / May 28, 2008 1:08 AM PDT

I have a Toshiba M35X-S309 laptop and running XP

My wife was using my laptop and she did something so that I now have my desktop icons in a single row a long the bottom of the screen. Also next to the arrow (pointing left) for the tray (in the lower right hand corner of the screen) is another arrow (pointing right). Clicking on this arrow will give you my desktop icons in one column on the right side of my screen. How do I get rid of these two extra desktops??

wahb64, If I understand your post correctly it appears that all of your desktop shortcuts are also in your Quick Launch toolbar. If you want to hide those Quick Launch icons just right click your Taskbar and unlock it then right click the Taskbar again choose Toolbars and uncheck Quick Launch. You can then Lock the Taskbar again.

No my desktop icons are not in my quick launch tray. They are in two places they shouldn't be in:

1. They are in one single row along the bottom of the screen (not the working part of the screen but in the bottom border.

2. In the quick launch tray there is an arrow pointing left. If you click on it, you will see all the icons in the tray. Just to the left of this arrow is another arrow pointing right that is not in the quick launch tray (the arrows are point to point). If you click on the left arrow pointing right, you get the entire desktop in one column on the right side of the screen.

I still also have all my desktop items in six columns on the left side of the screen as it should be.

How do I get rid of the duplicate desktops on the bottom of the screen and on the right of the screen??
