Mouse stalls or briefly freezes

by KellyL1973 / February 13, 2007 12:10 PM PST

The mouse on my desktop continually freezes or stalls and not always when the CPU or HDD are busy. It's very irratating. This is a wireless USB Logitech mouse. I have two other Logitech mice I'm using on a different system running xp without a problem, but when switched on to the other system I get the same results. I have updated mobo drivers. My system config follows:

Home XP
MSI KT4AV
Athlon XP
Radeon 70000 Series
On board audio
2 Segate HD's
DVDRW
CDRW

Thanx for any help anyone can provide to solve this propblem!

Logitech Mouse

I use a Logitech wireless mouse and kbd. It may be necessary to visit the Logitech website and download the latest driver for your hardware.
You can check in device manager to see what drivers are installed. Logitech or some generic?

I'm using the latest driver from Logitech... I'm also trying to use the PC as An HTPC with a Gyration mouse and keyboard with the same problem. The Gyration website says there are no special drivers, that it uses the Windows native drivers. It acts like there is a conflict somewhere, but device manage shows no conflicts and all is working ok!

Anyone know of any good utility I can use to track down the problem? Thanx!
