Mobile Phone Virus

by lisa577 / December 22, 2008 5:44 AM PST

Can a mobile phone, that hasn't been connected to the internet, get a virus ?
We connected my samsung tocco to the pc via a usb cable and now the PC has a virus. Could the virus have come from the phone or could it have caught it from the PC. Is there anyway to check if there is a virus on my phone ?

lisa577,

I wish I had a little more insight on this, but I admit that I'm not a phone expert.

There is a phone forum here at C|Net, and I hope you consider posting there were all the phone experts are.

That said, I'm going to on a limb here and suggest that transferring a virus to your computer from your phone is possible, but really, not very likely at all.

If anything, your virus-software may be identifying a normal process as a virus. But definitely ask this in the phone forums. You can find that forum here. Trust me... you'll get a better answer. Wink
