Microsoft Visio alternatives

by rgblank58 / December 16, 2011 6:22 AM PST

I'm looking for software (preferably free) to use for simple drawings. I use an old version of Visio on my old PC, and recently bought a new PC. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on something to design next year's garden layout!

Lucidchart is a great diagramming solution
by lucid_chart / November 6, 2012 6:17 AM PST

I am not sure what diagrams you are trying to make but Lucidchart is a great option. We are rolling out updates every couple weeks with big changes. A really popular tool with a lot of people in the <a href="https://www.lucidchart.com/pages/uml/>UML diagram support. We also have shape libraries for flowcharts, mind maps, venn diagrams, ER diagrams, etc.

You can also import all your old Visio diagrams into Lucidchart with a Pro account.

According to list.ly and alternativeto.net, ConcepDraw.com is a good Visio alternative. Plus it works on both systems Mac and PC and have free on-line Visio convertor.
