Is "ANY 1 KNOW OF A GOOD ANTIVIUS 4 A SLOW XP" the same OS?
by Carol~ Forum moderator / August 11, 2010 11:26 AM PDT

GSmatt18..

Are you asking about an antivirus, for the same machine in your post:

Subject: "ANY 1 KNOW OF A GOOD ANTIVIUS 4 A SLOW XP"?

'HEY EVR1 IVE GOT THIS REALLY SLOW COMPUTER I JUST BOUGHT FOR $20 AND NEED A GOOD ANTIVIRUS FOR IT BUT ITS PRETTY SLOW KNOW OF ANY GOOD 1S'

If you are asking the same question, about the same machine, we can cover it in one thread. Until we know, I'm going to lock the other thread.

If it's in regard to a different machine, kindly let us know, and we will unlock your other thread.

Thanks for your co-operation..
Carol

Dear gsmart18 (Max?) Before We Can
by tobeach / August 11, 2010 3:15 PM PDT

properly recommend an A/V & other A/S A/M, we need to know the XP service pack level currently on the machine or what SP you will bring it up to before installing the protectors as they now are very specific in what SP& OS they support. Suggesting one that doesn't support what you have can be as bad or worse than none at all!!

Would also help to know stuff in RED above post area like HD & RAM etc.
as we would hesitate to suggest a very large featured one on a small drive w/ min. RAM etc. Help us to help you! Thanks. Happy

MSE VS COMODO
by ggapaj / October 22, 2010 2:23 PM PDT

Comodo provides better allround security for the medium to advanced user. It includes the antivirus, defense + and the sandbox. Microsoft is easier to use and better for the beginner. Microsoft is also heavier on my system, it uses around 60mb in the background, comodo 5 uses 15-20mb.

Comodo versus Microsoft Security Essentials

In reply to: MSE VS COMODO

I am baby-ing an old processor ,motherboard, till I get money for upgrade.Still running Winxp.
Research has brought me to choose between Comodo or MSE.
I do not care about scan speed or HD storage.
Just background effect on old processor
