Question

mac 10.5.8

have no sound. sound output reads "headphones", but
gives no other choices in the preferences sound box.
what to do?

is this not a mac forum? it says in the title "Mac" 10.5.8

sound is off. preferences allow only "Headphones'. where this appears the rest of the box is empty. the speaker jack is plugged in. the mute box is unchecked. I run Safari, but this is not the problem. I would dearly love to run Firefox but they no longer support my rig

Maybe there's something known about the Apple you have but without details, folk may guess badly.

This is a simple problem. A few years ago, I paid 25$ to a site that told me what to do about this,
but idiot me, i didn't record it.. anybody got any ideas?
