Lost title bar

by jawjkw / March 25, 2008 3:38 AM PDT

I am running XP and use both IE7 and Firefox. I am experiencing a problem, I have lost the title bar(the one that shows the closing x and max & min features) on both Firefox & IE7 and any links I bring up from either browser. I still have the title bar on my Microsoft office.

I have searched through Google and Windows to find related subject to help solve the problem with no luck.

Appreciate any help

When I press f11 I get the x and window size buttons but they are in with the address bar and it creates a second address bar and they will not function

jawjkw, This is a strange problem. You could go to the link below and under the letter "T" scroll down to "Toolbar Repair" and try that utility. By the way, have you tried a System Restore to the closest date prior to when this problem started?

Go into Display Properties>Appearance tab, click the Advanced button, choose Active Title Bar in Items:, use the drop down arrow button and choose Size: 25, click OK/APPLY/OK.

I tried your suggestions and the title bar is still missing. I have not done a system restore because this problem has been on going for a month or better , I was leery on restoring back that far even if I could.

I am thinking the problem is with XP because it is happening in both IE7 & Firefox. I did a upgrade on both Firefox and IE and still the Title bar was missing. I did download Safari and it did have a title bar. I have since removed Safari
