Lost photos

by Learner7 / June 10, 2008 4:29 AM PDT

My friend has accidentally deleted all the photos she took on holiday. I am asking for help as she does not have access to the web. The camera is a Pentax optio 60. She did not put the photos on her computer, and says she was trying to delete the ones not wanted and suddenly they all disappeared. Is there any chance of recovering them? I have an Olympus so have no idea how hers works.

I would recommend contacting the camera's manufacturer on this issue, by phone if possible. Responses by email are usually painfully slow.

There are a lot of good data recovery programs out there.

I downloaded a program called PC Inspector Smart Recovery (Convar). It was brilliant, and managed to recover all 150 of my friends photos which I put on a CD for her. She is equally delighted. I am very grateful for all the advice I get through CNET. Thanks again.

Since they never made it to the computer it's pretty tough. Contact the manufacture.
