Headphones & Mp3 Players

Question

Looking for MP3 player for car with iPod capabilities

by doublestackradio / June 12, 2013 3:37 AM PDT

Hi,

I recently got a 2010 Nissan Sentra and it has one of the docks in the center console where you plug in your iPod and then on the stereo there is an iPod button/feature so you can run through songs, albums, playlists, etc. in your car.

I really don't want an iPod, but would like to buy an mp3 player and use the iPod features that are on there car.

Can someone help me out on getting an mp3 player that will not only work like an iPod when I listen to it in my car (control it through the stereo) but also an adapter so I can get the mp3 player connected to that dock.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure there is a way that I can do this without actually buying an iPod.

Thanks,

Save yourself a lot of time and stop looking. That iPod integration is done with proprietary communications that only exist on the iPod.

There are some systems that use a BlueTooth link and most phones will play along with either nothing or a matching app.

So I need an iPod unfortunately?

I would think there has to be some way around it.

But I don't see this in all models. And we are talking ancient history here. I know some folk that are so put off by Apple stuff but in this case the iPod is the easy fix. If there was an alternative it could be to use what I noted or replace the radio system but for the bucks I'd get any old ipod.

In fact I own this dang old 20GB HP iPod with the silver back. Those don't cost much and there are a lot of older models out there for cheep.

The iPod touch in stylish black offers a hefty 32 GB hard drive for all your multimedia and files! It also boasts an incredible mix of features and functions, such as two built-in cameras - one on the front for FaceTime calls and one on the rear for recording HD video. This enables you to make video calls over Wi-Fi networks to any other FaceTime-enabled iPod touch or iPhone 4.
