just the necklace.
no. i want the show daily again..
I would prefer one chat so we can get here waht all the other citizens thoughts are on the current topic.
Also I don't know if it is just my computer, but all the webcams are on top of eachother, which makes it impossible for me to view them all at once, is it possible to make them side by side? if not I will figure something out.
Keep up the good work! you have made this work so great!
Please remember us in the low bandwidth parts of the world..
Firstly, I think that a regular IRC chat is by far the best option... it's simple and straight forward and there are about a brazillion ways to interact with it.
Secondly, as a South African where we we still pay heavily for bandwidth usage, I would love to be able to get *just* the live audio... I realize that this might be impossible with yahoo live but maybe there is some other service that can serve just the audio?
that's my 2c
I think it's great!
Mainly because I don't have access to the Yahoo Live chat. Thanks!
once I got the levels going, chat and video worked pretty well today! Thanks for setting up the website!
Video gets nothing
Am I crazy? Everytime I try to go to this yahoo live deal, it always says "not broadcasting" over the video(s). However, the "time broadcasting" value for Tom, and Jason keeps going up on their profile pages. Plus people are chatting about the show as it's on. WHY CAN'T I SEE THE VIDEO?
RE: video gets nothing
Since yahoo live is beta/experimental, after getting so many users looking at it, it crashes, giving "Null Error". That is why you did not see video.
liking the IRC chat,but...
I like the IRC chat a lot better
I would prefer to use my chat client tho so i can see all three cams and the chat at once
i cannot however seem to connect to the right server
anyone have the addy with a port #?
looking forward to participating as the bugs get worked out
re: liking the IRC chat but....
I believe the address was irc.mibbit.com:6667
channel was #bolchat
thx ltsiver I managed to get it input
i was trying to manually add a port# and somehow that was buggering things up lol
IRC rules, the page can use some tweaking
I like the IRC chat option a lot better than the Yahoo offer.
I might rearrange the windows, though, so that Tom and Molly are side-by-side up top, then the chat window below, then jason below that.
Nothing against Jason, i'm just typically wanting to read / chat in the chat and watch Tom and Molly, and the IRC window is big enough that I can't do that as easily now.
err, my nick is sharktopus btu it's showing me as vinhpoo...
Yah... this happened to me too
I'm arbitraryuser, but it posted as someone else earlier... this cnet system is very janky.
i really like the layout with the 3 cams side by side with chat on top
that way i can just lay my IRC client overtop of the chat
and easily see all 3 cams at once
We'll get on it as soon as pb30 is back online.
We would like to produce a host friendly site- so any comments from you folks would be incredibly useful.
I'm working on it now. Also going to try out different layouts for people. Ustream has a much better embed, so there will be more flexibility.
Posted too soon
Basic Ustream page is up at bol.pb30.com
Jason: You may want to turn off the chat on those channels, the other chat is more powerful.
You may also want to add Molly and Tom as partner shows.
If anyone has any ideas for layouts let me know.
You could have a layout with the m stacked on the left? possibly?
Or like Tom/Molly and to the bottom left is jason and the chat is to the right? I don't know.
IRC chat is best by far, but with operators so it stays family friendly
Would you like a fully customizable drag-drop bol.pb30.com?
With a friendly Web 2.0 Interface?
Version 1.5 Released
New update to the site. It now uses Ustream. There is an option to change your layout at the bottom of the page. Just click the picture and you'll get that new layout with any options at the top. All layouts have chat on by default, but it can be turned off at the top. If the layout has less than 3 cams you can pick who you want on the page (so if just Tom is on, you can just see his cam). If you have any (good) ideas for other layouts let me know. Thanks everyone.
Did I get kicked or did the IRC server die?
I think the three cams on the top and the chat on the bottom would work well as a layout.
Method Of Automatically Converting Life Streams to Podcast
The latest thing from BOL Live Labs:
Podcast Feed for Live Streams:
I don't know if there is an automatic video splicing program to produce one podcast video.
But using this method, you would have a single feed:
Within Ustream, there is an option to record live streams.
There is another option to automatically upload the recordings to Blip.tv.
All that this requires is the creation of a Blip.tv account and entering said account information into Ustream.
Blip.tv hosts the files for free and converts them into MPEG-4 files, available in a podcast feed form.
You can use http://www.feedroll.com/feedcombiner/ to access all three of the feeds at once, in the form of one podcast feed.
Cams on top. Chat on bottom.
Thank you for all the work you have done. I almost feel bad to ask if you can make a layout with the cams on top and the chat on the bottom.
Keep up the good work!!
Tom, Molly, and Jason what can we do to honor pb30 for all his work?
