LinkSYS WRT54G router software/programe

by Ammo Guy / June 20, 2009 7:26 PM PDT

Where do I go to download the software/program for a LinkSYS WRT54G router? I went to and found everything but the software.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Software or firmware?
by Coryphaeus / June 20, 2009 10:43 PM PDT

There is no "software" for the router, only firmware. This is the router's operating system; it determines the functions. Can you be more specific on what you are trying to gain?

I point a web browser at the router and use its web setup tools.

Why not?

Router setup ?

I'm going to assume that you are looking for software to set up the router -- as Coryphaeus has noted you don't need software. Best to read or download the manual which will tell you how setup.

LinkSYS = boatanchor :(
by Ammo Guy / June 22, 2009 12:03 PM PDT

Thanks everybody for the info.
It would appear that this router is FUBAR.
The debate now is wether to use it as a boatanchor or a target.
I vote target.

Again, thanks,

I need the CD or the drivers for the WRT54G router. Where can I find it free without paying somebody to send it to me by link?

No drivers necessary for a router. Why do you think you need one?

Otherwise you would need them as you used WiFi hotspots.
