LG VX8300 How do I transfer ringtones?

by websurfer68 / August 29, 2006 4:54 AM PDT

I have already tried the way of the SDcard and that didn't work. When I went to move them, it gave me the option to move or erase. Well it just erased them.

I will be getting the data cable. Is that the answer to move them?

I have bunch of ringtones on my pc that I had "sent" to my LG6100 and paid .25 each to receive the file. With the new technology there just HAS to be a way to get them without paying for them again.

I'm not going to use the VCast and pay for the ringtones again.

Transferring ringtones
by ResQ51Kmg365 / August 29, 2006 10:47 PM PDT

There are several ways to do this. The easiest (for me) is getting the USB cable that is compatable with your phone and using Bitpim (google it). I rarely text outside the IN network so I have a ton of texts i can play with, so i sometimes also use Tone This, which allows me more control over what parts I want to use as ringers or alert tones. Tone this will upload it to your phone as a text message.

Will these techniques work with any phone? I've been trying to create/upload ringtones for my ROKR for weeks.

Okay, I have the cable and Bitpim. I'm having trouble getting the tones from pc to bitpim. What format do the tones need to be in to get there? I have some midi files.
