LG vx8300: Getting photos OFF the phone

by EmberLeo / March 29, 2007 1:20 PM PDT

Hello folks,

I have an LG Vx8300 phone, which I quite like. I don't have VCast enabled anymore, which is how I like it. I don't use it to play music, though I have enabled MP3 capability just for the hell of it.

In fact, other than using it as a phone, I only use it as a handy camera. But the only way I know of to get the photos OUT of the camera is to email them to myself one at a time for a small fee to Verizon. I asked at the store, and the Verizon employees didn't know of any other way. I looked on the LG website, and couldn't find conclusive information. I poked around here looking for information, but mostly I've found comparatives and instructions on enabling MP3s.

What I want to know is, how can I get photos I have taken with my LG VX8300 Camera-Phone OFF my phone, onto my computer? I've found how to get photos ON the phone, but that's the opposite of what I want.

Now, I've found info that says I may be able to get a USB cable for my phone, and I know I could get a Micro SD card. I currently have neither, but I wouldn't care to buy one only to find it didn't help. Do either of these accessories work for getting photos off the phone and onto my computer?

I have the LG 8100, with your phone which is the upgrade to mine. I had that problem myself back then. But now I transfer pics by using a memory card, just insert my card to my PC and upload them.

I have the LG vx8300 and I use a 1GB Micro SD card to download photos taken with my camera on the phone, it works GREAT! You can also put MP3's on the card and use as a MP3 player...and with a Micro SD card you get a TON more space than with the phone memory. I got mine off of crucial.com for about $13.00. Just make sure that your have a card reader on your computer and your set. Good luck Happy

That LG phone problem
by D_Moyer / December 27, 2010 2:01 PM PST

I am utterly amused that the first site I find about my question is my friend Ember asking the same question. I HAVE the proper cable, I just don't know what to do with it. I have pictures I want to upload to my computer, and find that my new machine doesn't have the program on it. My computer guru doesn't remember the name of the program that we were using on the old machine. Any ideas would be VERY welcome!
