Below you'll find the settings I found best for viewing the LG 42PA4500 in a dim room via the HDMI input. Your settings may vary depending on source, room conditions, and personal preference. Check out the Picture settings and calibration FAQ for more information.

Calibration notes:
I am including these settings as a base point, but actually have little faith in them giving you a good picture. Having input the settings and receiving a great looking chart i tested the TV on two later occasions (after turning it off each time) and the greyscale differed completely. Only once did I bother zeroing in the settings again. However, for whatever it's worth, these are the settings I tested with.

Picture menu:
Energy Saving: Off
Picture Mode: Expert [1 or 2]
Contrast: 90
Brightness: 54
Sharpness: 8
Color: 50
Tint: 0
