Le32m87bd horizontal freezing lines

by Joeworcs / December 20, 2012 12:28 AM PST

I have an old Sammy TV which after about 5 mins freezes in 4 horizontal bars starting at the bottom. It's usually sorted with a firm whack at the top of the screen but soon returns.

I have replaced the psu as the capacitors were bulging. It seemed to be ok for a day then back to the same as before.

Anyone seen this before? Is it a dead panel?

The whack is sadly called abuse.

Some take offense but it is that. It does however tell you that some connection has failed. It does not tell us where. A TV tech would need to see the set and then give an estimate on repair.

The bad cap plague usually can be fixed by a maker's extended warranty on some models and the model does not sound like one with another issue I've run into. Maybe this is not an US model?
