Laptop or iPad for school?

by aikelly105 / August 18, 2012 3:20 AM PDT

My old laptop crashed a couple days ago so I need to get a new computer before school starts! But I'm not sure if i should get another laptop or get the new iPad. I'll mainly be using my new device for checking my email, going on facebook, using online study
resources, watching movies and maybe writing a couple of essays. I do realise that typing for a long time on the iPad's keyboard can be a pain but I can get easily get a bluetooth keyboard for it. At the moment Im leaning slightly for the iPad because of it's vast array of educational apps but then again, laptops are what I'm used to!
Any ideas? Oh and i have a budget of about 500Euro (around 600$?) and will need my new machine to last for at least 4 years!

Given your requirements . . .

The iPad will probably suffice. The only problem I see is printing if needed. iPads are nice and classy. Laptops are more complete and versatile.

Tablets especially iPad are entertainment devices. Want to entertain your kids in school? Do noo forget to add Netflix subscription in your iPad. Remember, one major goal of Apple to make humans slave of computer. Please, keep it in mind.
