Keynote '09 - Center Object

by Keith1940 / January 30, 2010 11:41 PM PST

Keynote '09 Version 5.0.3 on a 21.5 inch late 2009 3.06 GHz iMac with 4GB RAM and Mac OS X 10.6.2

I have successfully created a custom keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+M) for the "Middle" option in the Align Objects submenu of the Arrange menu that both shows up alongside the option and works. However, several attempts to create "Center" shortcuts (eg Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+N- accepted in System Preferences>Keyboard> Keyboard Shortcuts) have neither appeared alongside the option in the submenu nor worked.

Could the existence of a Center option under the Inspector's Text tab have anything to do with this problem?

Any help on the subject of creating an Align Object> Center option would be much appreciated, even if it is that it is not possible to have a shortcut for that option.

For other folks who arrive at this thread, remove the spaces in the menu title above. Here is what I use, which works as expected:

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">MENU TITLE:
<span>Arrange->Align Objects->Center
<span>

<span>KEYBOARD SHORTCUT:
<span>CONTROL + OPTION + COMMAND + DOWN ARROW
<span>

<span>Note that my "Menu Title" does not include any spaces.
