keyboard not responding

windows xp home edition [service pack 2]
tagar systems
AMD Athlon xp 2000+
1.67 ghz 224 mb ram

my keyboard will not work when windows has loaded.
it does allow me to access the bios, and do a safe boot. but as soon as windows has loaded the mouse,
and i press any keyboard button, it freezes, and I have to reboot...

standard 101/102-key or microsoft natural ps/2 keyboard

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry)
is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Input/Output Range 0060 - 0060 used by:
PS/2 Compatible Mouse
Input/Output Range 0064 - 0064 used by:
PS/2 Compatible Mouse

I've tried to uninstall both the mouse and keyboard
together and individually with no change?
any help would be greatly appreciated, because this onscreen keyboard is horrible... thanx muchly..

You amy want to try:

1) Roll back the clock with System Restore to the time it last worked.
2) Use the XP cd and run SFC/scannow
3) Try a USB keyboard.
