Question

Keyboard Acting Weird (even on screen keyboard)

by 17demigod / February 4, 2014 7:54 AM PST

Hey,
I just had something really weird happen to me.
Until I accidentally and randomly signed off my user account on my PC and then signed back in my keyboard keys were doing completely random and weird things.

L was assigned to opening the menu for signing in someone else

Space opened the windows sidebar

Some letter worked similar to ctrl+f

Basically EVERY key was assigned to something completely random.

I tried to use the on screen keyboard to google the problem but even that had the same exact effect...the on screen keys did the exact same things.

Eventually I pressed L and while trying to sign back in with my mouse I apparently hit switch user which lead to me completely signing out and then signing back in. That stopped it.

Considering though that my pc has repeatedly had these fails I'm a bit concerned

There are no other users on my computer and my virus scan says I'm fine...my computer has been really slow in the last couple of months, the performance has seriously dropped and it's been freezing for like 2 or 3 minutes like once a week for a month now.
I don't have the money for a new pc atm, don't have the time currently to select only the files I need and save them, and I can't afford to delete all my files.

Anyone heard of anything similar and knows that the heck this is?

I'm new, sorry for double posting, but I can't find an edit button actually...when I said "my computer has repeatedly had these fails" I wasn't referring to this situation. This is the first time my keyboard did this. I was just generally talking about my pc having been slow for a while and acting weird in general.

Just clarifying this as it probably came over wrong the first time.

Such as age OS make etc. When was the last time you used canned air and replaced thermal paste?
