Resolved Question

Is this a compatible hard drive?

by Bluenose_ted / August 28, 2014 10:33 AM PDT

Hello

I have had two blue screens recently - I managed to recover the PC (a Packard Bell imedia S1800 3 years old), but not the second time when I got the message 'Windows set up could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware'.

Sea Tools hard disk analysis software passed the PC (Win 7 64-bit) at a basic level, but it failed at an advanced level, so I need to replace the hard drive.

It has a hard drive 'name' of: WDC WD5000AAKX -221CAO (not sure what those final characters are) and it says it's an ATA device (not sure what that is, either!).

Can I ask if this hard drive would be compatible with my PC, please?

Thank you

Blue
