Does this model have a video "CARD"? I looked and found no card so if I'm right, there is no card to change out.
I have an Asus U56E that I got July 2012. It runs perfectly fine and I've have no problems with it. However I recently purchase Autodesk Entertainment to learn Maya and Mudbox. I try to open Mudbox but get the error message that it requires ATI or NVIDIA graphics. My graphics card is an Intel HD 3000 which I know is not the greatest, but I haven't had any problems working with Adobe, Maya or Zbrush so it hasn't bothered me until now.
I spoke to someone on Asus chat and he said I could try and get a dedicated card installed but since mine is integrated it probably won't work.
The laptop was relatively cheap (Around $600) so I wasn't expecting much, but it is running well and I can use every other program I need, so it seems a bit much to buy a brand new computer just for that one program. On the other hand I know that graphics cards can be pricey and besides the fact that it may not even be possible to install a new card, I could end up spending the same amount on a graphics card that I could spend on a new computer.
Would it be better for me to just buy a new computer with the graphics card I need? Or has anyone every tried installing a new graphics card? Or is it not even possible with mine...
If anyone has any advice or knowledge of this area I'd appreciate it. Here is my computer info, let me know if you need any other information:
