Internet Explorer 7 wont run!!

by .kEy. / May 1, 2009 11:38 AM PDT

I just reformatted my computer/installed xp all over again and installed ie7. when i double click it, it flashes the screen like its gonna start, but it immediately shuts off and nothing happens. im not too computer savvy and ive tried all the suggestions i could find online (running it w/o add-ons, reregistered the IEProxy.dll file) but NOTHING WORKS!! it all started when i had IE8 before reformatting and tried to downgrade to IE7. i thought a fresh XP installation would fix it, but to no avail. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! i really need ie7 to work for my job.

I was reading up on the HijackThis stuff but like i said, im not too computer savvy, so i dont really kno wut to do with it. Heres the logfile if it helps:

Did you ever find a solution to this. I am having exactly the same problem after removing all of IE 8 and installing IE 7. Did you find out if some of the components for IE8, which I removed, are required in IE7?

Why did you remove IE8?
And how did you remove IE8?
What happens if you install IE8 again? Does it work?
