Question

Installation problems with FreeOCR

by charlieh44 / December 6, 2011 3:38 AM PST

I have used this beautiful piece of software with my previous computer. But when I downloaded it to my present computer, I get an "error 11" about halfway through the installation process. This information also appears: }

Can anyone help me get this software installed? As a college instructor, it is really helpful to me.

" Free OCR uses the Tesseract OCR engine (see below)"

I wonder if you have to install the engine first?

I wasn't aware of an "install engine". I didn't do anything out of ordinary earlier in the year when I installed it on my old computer. Does this software come with that?
Thanks for your reply

Just reading the web page and thought it odd they noted the OCR Engine. I can't answer your question as I'm not the author or user. But it would be something I would try (install the OCR Engine first.)
