I CAN'T OPEN INTERNET EXPLORER!

by LittleD653 / November 10, 2004 9:19 AM PST

When I click on internet explorer, nothing happens. At first i get a pointer with an hourglass and my computer runs more slowly, but eventually it just goes back to normal without opening the internet explorer browser. I can connect to the internet, use outlook express, and browse the net using my SBC browser, but IE will not work for some reason. PLEASE HELP!

I don't know if this is related, but when I use my SBC browser (since IE won't open) to use shockwave programs I cannot type in any boxes on the website (program.)

It didn't work...I don't think any of the problems it fixes apply to me. Any other ideas? This is driving me crazy...

Did you try a restore - use F8, safe mode -
restore to the time before you had the error.

I got the error a long time ago, and I don't remember when it was. Plus I would lose a lot of stuff on my computer.

Not really. You'd change reg settings, but the files and programs should not be lost(I've done this on my Me machine)File backup is a wise thing to do either way.Just choose an old restore point and see what happens. You can change back as well; see the
help file in the restore program.
