How old is your wireless router?

The one time I had problems with a weak signal and dropped connections, the router was failing.

Two possibilities:
1. The signal send by the wireless router is getting weaker after 20 minutes.
2. The signal stays the same, but the receiver in the macbook thinks it's weaker.

I'd use any other mobile device (laptop, smartphone, tablet) to see which of the two it is. Then you know what to replace or repair.
