There is more than possibility, so you need to be more specific. Do you want the GSM, security, or SIM unlock ?

At&t SIM unlock.....

From my recollection, At&t has an online tool to recover this from their internet site after users login to their account. There is no fee.

Generally, the provider that subsidized the locked phone (unlocked phones are not subsidised so more expensive) knows how to unlock it also. Did you ask them?

If the OP needs a SIM unlock, it is not the same thing as a phone (GSM) unlock.

I never unlocked a sim to date. I've slipped in a new sim from the new carrier and only needed the phone unlocked.

I read and at step 3 it writes:
"Turn off your phone and remove your old SIM card. Insert a SIM card from another carrier. Do not use the SIM card locked to your current carrier."

I wonder if there is a true SIM unlock system just like the real Slim Shady.

.....there is a real Santa Claus. Laugh

In all seriousness, when I was a CS rep for a GSM carrier we would commonly get SIM unlock requests. If entered correctly within 5 tries (I think) it would prevent a customer from having to go to a store for a replacement SIM card. The SIM unlock has nothing to do with being able to use a foreign SIM, to do so that requires a phone unlock. The SIM unlock happens when a user has a password on the phone and someone enters the pass code incorrectly and the phone asks for a SIM unlock code.

Ahh. Password?

Terms make all the difference here. Just like unlocking a phone to switch carriers I thought unlocking a SIM would be to use the SIM on another carrier. Don't laugh as just last week someone was adamant they wanted to do that to avoid buying the SIM.

If they just forgot the password, now that makes sense.

Once in a while a member thinks others here have "the code." Sorry, no, so far no one has them.
