Details matter here:
a. What (version of) Windows?
b. What disk?
c. Does the BIOS see the disk?

Why not use the HP recovery disk?

Sorry should have put all that out there lol

Windows 7 ultimate X64
"C" Drive (main drive on computer) When i go to clean install windows it says it a removable disk and that I need to load the drivers.

Bios sees disk as removable with no data

And all original disks have been lost by my friends parents (they were originally theirs)

Those downloaded Ultimates have issues!

OK, 7 can do that even when the HDD is good. Try this. Go get DBAN and erase the HDD. Now boot the 7 dvd.
