HP Deskjet printer 3940 installation on XP64bit?

by viki27385 / December 22, 2008 5:19 PM PST

I am not able to find a driver for HP Deskjet printer 3940 which is to be installed on a Windows XP64bit OS. The HP website gives me a diagnostic utility to download which is of no use. It does not provide me with any driver for my printer. The "HP Help Centre" could not help me out.

From where can I find a driver compatible with XP 64bit OS??
Are there any universal/alterante drivers available which can work with my printer??

If HP doens't have this ...
by Kees Bakker / December 22, 2008 5:33 PM PST

for a printer they introduced more than 3 years ago (I saw a review dated 08.29.05, which was 2005) I'd forget about it and buy a compatible printer.

How much effort can you afford for this one?

I know the long round about method would be to add another PC to do the printing but is that worth it?
