How to remove Avast virus prtotection from my HP Touchsmart

by geoffuk / December 26, 2009 6:53 AM PST

I downloaded Avast some time ago, but need to remove it from my PC and I cannot. When I try to uninstall in Control Panel I get a message "Error: a setiface error has occurred 536870929 Try to re-install"
I cannot reinstall and just want Avast off my computer. If I go to program files and try to delete the Avast (Alwil) file, I get message: You need permission". It's very annoying.
I am operating on Windows Vista 64 bit and Have a HP Touchsmart PC. I unchecked the user account permission box in control panel from the get go.
Thanks for any help

Why can't you reinstall?

Just deleting the folder in Program Files is risky, I'd say.
