Question

How to install HP Scanjet 4800 software on a Win 7 PC?

by Jamfan55 / December 18, 2013 6:58 AM PST

it's a perfectly good scanner, no reason to not keep using it, so there must be a way to do it. But what I've tried hasn't worked

For clarity. Is this the 4850 scanner or the other model?

The 4800 was a series, not a model.

In reply to: Yes, it's the 4850

The supplied CD is a dead end. I see we covered using HP's downloads and I see the 4850 is supported by Hamrick.

Doubtful.

But forget trying to install the software it came with. Stop!

Head to hp.com and see if they have drivers for it.

If not, we always have VueScan at http://www.hamrick.com/
