Basic info

You know that HD antenna is really nothing more than the same antenna technology of the old type. It basically, isn't that different. The connections are going to be pretty much the same, so if you need some adapter, a place like Wal-mart or K-Mart is going to provide from the electronics section what you need. You need to look and check what is needed. Of course some online sources porvide the pictures you can check on if in doubt. Google away for such pictures.

Thanks for your answer and thoughts...I really have not tackled this the way I should and just asked. I do need to look at the connectors and see what I need...the TV is a Samsung and the antenna is from Radio Shack...ah there I go..ask Radio Shack what fits with 'their' antenna...duh!! ;o/...the heat here has cooked my brain..we hybernate in the summer here you know...with a very tall Iced Tea and lots of ice....113-114 or some such awful thing today...irk. and it is still 97 at almost midnight...take care and thanks again...tata...Ruth

If you have a camera, take pix and post on photobucket or any other free pix website. That way, we get a chance to look at such items in questions. Of course, you can still compare on your own or post links for us to look.

We'd have to know the names of the connections.

I didn't have to use any adapter here. All the coax connections were the F-type like you saw in my supplied picture.

All the sets I see today use that connection. Can you share the make, model and connections with links or pictures?

Had to smile at your 'home made' antenna...rather looks like mine for a radio I have...I have to move it to--just so--- to get the best reception. Once had a coat hanger for a 'rabbit ear' and worked real well.....so necessity is the 'mother' of invention, as they say.....thanks, have a good one, Ruth
