How to get videos out of LG500/Tracfone

by Chigal48 / January 14, 2013 7:16 AM PST

I shot 4 videos that are inside the LG500 Tracfone and Tracfone tells me there is no way to get the videos out or transferred to my computer. Or to send it by email, which I tried and it didn't work.
Surely there's a way to transfer out, short of tearing the phone apart and grabbing the internal memory. It only has one port opening for the charger. No opening for a media card.
Would anyone know a way to transfer out?

Bluetooth is installed

When I click "send" to send the videos elsewhere I get two options: message and Bluetooth. Then I click Bluetooth and it searches for a device. (sometimes it finds device)
Would anyone know if this is a path out of the computer (w/ Bluetooth) and what I need to do from there?

Let me be clear.

There is no documented method to do this. If the maker has no user manual and you can't figure it out then it's very likely this feature does not work.

I looked around Howard's forums and with google and folk are reporting your findings.

For a 10-20 buck phone, you may want to lower your expectations.

Do you have....
by birdmantd Forum moderator / January 14, 2013 7:20 AM PST

.....a USB cable compatible with the phone that you can connect to a computer ?? Most, not all phones, memory can be accessed by tethering it and pulling files from the phone like it was a remote storage device.

No, I don't

I don't have a usb compatible.
I clicked the Send button and the next option was Message (for email) and Bluetooth. When I click Bluetooth, it searches for a device.
Would you know what I have to do from there?

Sounds like the bluetooth pairing wasn't made yet

First thing is to figure out the bluetooth pairing, whether or not it's successful. This can take some trial and error IME. You might even emply a $5 bluetooth dongle vs using the built in BT of your laptop or PC. That has worked for me in the past.

I wouldn't expect much from a Tracfone device though. You might be better suited asking this technical question in a Tracfone centered discussion forum, somewhere like See if one of their prepaid forums has a thread, or start a new one on your topic.
