How to get HD on my old Pioneer plasma tv (pdp-503cmx)?

by lfergus1 / October 21, 2012 12:25 PM PDT

I have a Pioneer plasma tv that is probably 10 years old and I was told to buy a Dvi to Hdmi cable to hook to my cable box and the tv in order to get hd on my tv. However, when I hooked up the cable, I get an error message that says "hdcp authorization failure, hdmi port disabled". What do I need to buy or do to make this work?

All help is greatly appreciated!!!

Good intention on the advice

But since your set does not have HDCP then it should fail. Intel (yes Intel Corporation) has legions of lawyers to go after anyone that provides a HDCP "stripper" so we won't be seeing that.

For now you'll want Component outputs from your players and such.

What do u mean by component outputs and such? Are you saying that there is a way to get HD on the tv legally or are you telling me its not possible legally?
