How to get audio out of nvidia660ti to bose v20 home theater

by mitzaotomitza / June 13, 2013 11:41 AM PDT

Hi there !
Here is what I am trying to do :
I do have a nvidia 660ti I want to hook up to my Bose lifestyle v20 5.1 home theater.

My PC : - Msi big bang x79 with its own optical/ coaxial audio output.

The thing is that I want to use the Nvidia card and audio. When I plug the hdmi cable in the card and then to the Bose I get nothing but a screen without taskbar. NO AUDIO.
I tried to disable the realtek MSi driver and have only the nvidia activated. I get the hdmi cable from the card to the Aux , to the Dvd audio in ....nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I disabled the Nvidia and get the MSi realtek audio in action. Got the optical cable and the orange coax to the Msi motherboard. NOTHING.

I would appreciate if anybody will give me an solution of how to hook my nvidia card through an hdmi cable to a bose lifestyle 20 system. It should work instantly, BUT IT DOESN'T.

thank you for your input !!!

Nvidia660ti

Why I can't get audio out of my NVIDIA 660 ti planted in Msi big bang x79 .
There is a hdmi socket in the video card , that should get audio out to my Bose lifestyle v20.
When I plug the cable to the card and the Bose system the PC screen is freezing so I can t mess with the Nvidia control panel.
What is wrong ?
Any help appreciated

did you try/read page 26 about enabling audio over hdmi? What is this optical cable thing you are referring to.

No! I did not read page 26 / but I will

The optical cable is the one which comes from the msi motherboard.
I know that there might be a conflict between the graphic card audio and the motherboard audio.
I tried to disable the nvidia and get the optical MSI cable to work- no luck.
The I tried to disable the MSI audio and activate Nvidia with the Hdmi cable. - no luck.
Tomorrow I will go over page 26 ( i guess the manual )
Thank you very much!

I got pg 26 and did everything by the book.
When I connect the Hdmi cable it will say " No audio capable display available"
More then that the screen is freezing when I connect the cable.

Any ideas???
