some sites need an account that you sign in, when your sign in with your account , you can download videos for free.
some sites need a video downloader, like youtube, so you must get a youtube downloader.

How to Download Video from Internet Sites

I use 'YouTube' for most of my 'How To' videos and to download those videos I use a very simple FireFox addon called "Easy YouTube Video Downloader'. This addon places the word 'Download' in a small dropdown box beneath every YouTube video viewed. Clicking the dropdown Download box allows the selection from several format choices before downloading.

First of downloading youtube videos is against there term of use but like you said you want to do this for educational purpose and under fair use. So, I would like to share the way I download any video from youtube without wasting my money on software's and downloaders.

1. Play any youtube video as normally you do.
2. Now insert "ss" in the url of the video right after leaving "www."
3. Remember you only have to add "ss" and do nothing other than this with the url of the video.
4. Press enter. This will take you to another website called "savefrom(dot)net".
5. Press on download button, choose your location to save and download will begin automatically.
