How to disassemble Toshiba laptops.

by cj2600 / October 8, 2005 2:14 PM PDT

Hey guys, I just plan to start a new website. This site will provide instructions how to disassemble Toshiba laptops. I already created guides for Toshiba Satellite 1415, Toshiba Satellite M35X, and Toshiba Satellite A60/A65. I'm not sure if somebody needs this kind of guides. What do you think?

good idea!

There are many times where you wished
you could just fix your own machine
and not depend on the hassles of servicing
and the time and energy involved. At the
same time, if you're not careful, you could
actually make things worse or void your
semi-precious warranty. I remember years
ago, that Toshiba was one of the very few
notebook manufacturers that actually provided
you with schematics and disassembly instructions.
not anymore.

Want to make one for fujitsu?
by mswnow / February 9, 2006 4:51 AM PST

Anybody know where i can find this exact same info for Fujitsu. I got my computer back from service a week ago, and apparently they forgot to screw the USB ports back on, because they keep wigglingside to side and in and out when you plug something in.

I have a Laptop Toshiba Satellite 2435-s255. I wonder if it has a built-in microphone. I am not sure about it. Thanks very much.

Typically if it has a webcam built in there would also be a microphone, if no web cam, no built in mic.

Hello. As I said before, your stuff is very impressive if a bit scary. When you have finished the series you should produce a book on the collection and perhaps a brouchure on the individual models with expanded text.
I'm sure you could provide a welcome service as Toshiba are everywhere. Also the general trend now is for minimum hard copy instructions available to consumers
I imagine you would need some clearance from Toshiba.
Congratulations again on your sterling efforts. Stewart

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8100 and can acquire a Tecra TE2100 (for parts) on eBay. Can I merge the two?

by cj2600 / November 1, 2005 1:18 PM PST
In reply to: upgrading

Nope. You cannot merge 8100 and 2100. Two complete different units.
Buy the way. Do not buy used TE2100. If you see it - run! I repaired over 100 of these laptops. 95% the same issue - bad connection between system board and power board (result-unit will not boot up).

Tecra S1 video card repair
by c459 / November 18, 2005 6:28 AM PST

Dear Experts,
I would be very thankful for any help on this problem.
Looks like on my Toshiba Tecra S1 notebook (part No. PT831U-1111X7B) the video card (Radeon M 9000) is broken.
There are vertical and horizontal smooth shake lines on the LCD monitor and the same at the external monitor.
These shake lines are cover the normal picture and it is difficalt to see anything behind such distortion.
Could you give me advise, please, how I can correct it? Can I change the video card only or I should change
the whole mother board?
Thank you in advance,

by hipflask / November 22, 2005 6:38 PM PST

Hi, i have the same problem as you on a toshiba s1 laptop. It doesnt look like there is a daughter board on the laptop that you can replace, but im hoping it could possibly be a dry joint(wishfull thinking perhaps). can you tell me if anyone has answered your question? there is the webbie that cj2600 has written (thanks) to which ive asked for more info on a brown cable from cj2600 to help me with. Maybe he could point us both in the right direction on this matter (fingers x)
here's his url
