Just SHARING! I picked up the c4780 and FOUR HOURS LATER I figured mine out. I can't explain why this printer wanted the router set to 802.11g mode.
Hope this helps.
I have a new printer (above) and have loaded the software onto my PC and laptop. The new printer does not show in the Control Panel/Printers of either machine. Microsoft XPS Document Writer does, however.
My laptop has been successfully connected wirelessly to a Lynksys router for 6 months. After installing the HP printer software yesterday, the laptop is no longer connected.
I printed the HP network configuration page from the printer. It shows the wireless 802.11 as disconnected and no Admin Password set. (I have set one.)
Since I lost the laptop connection, I downloaded Linksys EasyLink Advisor and ran that but it is unable to connect to my wireless router.
Help!! I have set up printers for years and never had any problems.
